I am going to be putting this 1940 HG00 up for sale and know I will get questions about the fingerboard material. A friend has a banner head LG2 that has a similar board. I don't doubt it is original....

Terry,Looks like dyed and bleached out pear wood to me like the boards you can find at some Chicago factory made guitars and many banjos of course.Willi

Yes.. you'll also find dyed pearwood fretboards on some old Nationals, which makes sense in that the fretboard of an hawaiian style guitar is not supposed to be fingered (and thus discolor with...
